Hello from Charleton - The Midlife GlowGetter with Jax

Tuesday August. 25, 2026

Hello From South Carolina!

So I am coming to you from Folly Beach, SC.

I am on vacation righ now and have some spare time early AM moments before I go watch the sunrise on the beach. Life for me has been going like a dream. I wish you the same as well. I feel a real sense of balance. Mind, Body, Relationships, Work, & Fun. I can say right now is the happiest I've ever been.

My vacation time is showing up amazingly too. Time with my son Jake is so precious and I would't trade it for anything. I'm sure if any of you have children you feel the same way.

I'm not going to share our itinerary just yet. That will be a newsletter post in a week or two. Just know I'm thinking of all of you and planning more structured content as I navigate my new job, life and this space.

I can tell you being on vacation helps me refocus on what really matters. Time with my son and time for myself. My plan by this time next year is to have my current job switched to fully remote or find a new employer that is fully remote and sooner than later become a snow bird; Cleveland Summer and Fall, Charleston/Down South Winter and Spring. This has been a goal of mine for the last 3-5 years. And I feel I am on the right path to make it a reality by next year.

The more and more I get older I realize life is meant to be enjoyed and cherished. Not the hustle and bustle of working and living in a location that doesn't fit your needs. I do not enjoy the cold weather. I get major depression and anxiety and my body just hurts. However, I enjoy Cleveland and Northeast Ohio in the warmer months and I love my family and friends.

Another thing I wanted to mention I will be sharing more travel content. I plan on going somewhere fall or winter for 3-4 days. I am a newbie traveler so I am excited to share with you all the things One thing I will mention. I have to get better at packing. I do not use packing cubes, but maybe I should. I feel I bring to many toiletries and skincare stuff. I was not organized on this trip what so ever. But thats another story....

So wishing you an amzing rest of the week. I will check back soon. But before I go here below is some fun content I will try to share on repeat in the coming posts.

Love,Jax

Recipe of the Week

I had a homemade protein bar here is South Carolina and that is what inspired me for this recipe. I am actually making this Sunday 8/30. Check out my social media for reel adn review that day in the evening. Here is the the recipe I am making:

Classic PB-Cashew Vanilla Protein Bars

The base recipe — clean, minimal-sugar breakfast protein bars. ~26g protein, ~7g fiber, ~5g sugar per bar.

Ingredients

  • 240 g vanilla whey protein isolate
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter, no sugar added
  • 1 cup unsweetened cashew butter
  • 3/4 cup acacia fiber powder (e.g. Anthony’s)
  • 2 tbsp raw honey
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sugar-free dark chocolate chips (Lily’s)
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (as needed to bind)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, whisk 240 g vanilla whey protein isolate (e.g. Dymatize ISO100) and 3/4 cup acacia fiber powder (e.g. Anthony’s) together until no clumps remain.
  2. In a separate bowl, microwave 1 cup natural peanut butter, no sugar added and 1 cup unsweetened cashew butter for 20-30 seconds until soft and stirrable. Mix in 2 tbsp raw honey and 1 tbsp vanilla extract.
  3. Fold the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Add 3 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (as needed to bind) 1 tbsp at a time until the dough is thick but moldable (like cookie dough).
  4. Melt half of 3/4 cup sugar-free dark chocolate chips (Lily’s/Lakanto) (about 6 tbsp) and fold into the dough. Reserve the rest for topping.
  5. Line an 8x8 or 9x9 pan with parchment. Press dough evenly into the pan.
  6. Melt the remaining chocolate and drizzle over the top. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  7. Cut into 12 bars. Store in the fridge up to 2 weeks, or freeze up to 3 months.

Notes

Est. per bar: ~26g protein, ~7g fiber, ~5g sugar, ~280-320 cal (varies by brand). Fiber comes from the acacia powder plus natural fiber in the nut butters — check your protein powder and chocolate labels since sugar content varies by brand.

Keep glowing. Keep growing. You've got this.

— Jax
