Awaken & Bloom in Midlife Newsletter with Jax
September 2025
Hello glow getter,
Well Summer is coming to an end...Boo. I love summer and the heat and humidity it brings. Thats probably why I love my favorite place Charleston SC. Speaking of Charleston, I was supposed to go there this week on vacation with my son, but plans fell through. My son started a new job and could not take off due to training. He is a Data Scientist and this is a better position with higher pay, benefits and opportunity. So needless to say I was very disappointed, but I completly understand.
On to a more posive note I am transitioning to a "brand" name even though I will be the face of the new brand. It will be called The Midlife GlowGetter. I formed the LLC, TM, & Domain. I am getting a new website starting October and will be ready for release in Jan 2026. I am adding Accountability Signature Life Coaching, a Signature Course, and a Signature Guide. All for reasonable amounts.
The Accountability Signature Life Coaching Program will go for 3 months. I will address specifics in my clients life. Whether it be weight loss & wellness, Style, Beauty, Finance, relationships, passion & purpose. They will be exercises every month, habit tracking, feedback, texting daily for motivation and inspiration, weekly emails and monthly virtual meetings. The signature package will be for 3 months. Still working out cost, but it will be affordable. The Signature Course will be video based with handouts and worksheets. 6 modules. The Signature Digital Guide will be most affordable, my course in guide form.
So the upcoming months will be a lot of work. Plus my own reinvetion of still trying to loose 87 more poounds. Plus on top of all that I am debating to complete a wellness, nutrition and fitness certification.
This newsletter will be having the name changed as well, The Midlfie GlowGetter Newsletter. All my social media will transition in the next 30 days to @themidlifeglowgetter. I will be disolving the free facebook group and switching to a client only Facebook group. This is for clients who purchase coaching, courses and digital guides.
So yes alot of changes in the next 4 months. I am ready for it. I am looking forward to it.
Wanted tyo give you a heads up so when you see the changes you will recognize its still me. :)
So thats about it. Hope your Septemeber is filled with joy and renewal this change of season. We still have 4 more months till end of year. Lets stick to our growth habits and make each day count to reach our dream goals in midlife.
Love,
Jax

8 Powerfuil Midndset Strategies that Helped my Loose over 150 lbs in my mid 40's.
Mindset Tip #1 — Find Your WHY
Your “why” is the reason you start, and it’s the thing that keeps you going when it’s tempting to quit. This isn’t about just wanting to “look better.” This is about something sustainable and significant—something that will carry you through those rough moments.
Maybe it’s wanting to be healthy enough to travel in your 60s, or to play on the floor with your grandkids, or to finally feel confident walking into a room. Your “why” has to be personal, emotional, and powerful enough to keep you going.
Mindset Tip #2 — Create a Body Vision Board
I’m a huge fan of this one. Make a physical vision board or a Pinterest board filled with images of your dream body and what you want it to do. Maybe it’s wearing a string bikini, rocking a strapless little black dress, playing with your future grandkids, or crossing the finish line at a marathon.
The point is to give your brain a visual reminder of your end goal. When motivation dips, revisit that board. Let it reignite the fire. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone back to mine on a low-energy day and thought, “Yep, that’s why I’m doing this.”
Mindset Tip #3 — Plan Your Meals (aka Your Food Protocol)
Planning your meals isn’t boring—it’s freedom. When you decide ahead of time what you’re eating, you eliminate decision fatigue and impulsive choices.
Every week, I plan my meals based on my goals. If I know I’m going to a restaurant, I look at the menu ahead of time and choose my meal before I even get there. This way, I don’t let last-minute cravings or peer pressure derail me. Think of this as your “food protocol”—your personal playbook for success.
Mindset Tip #4 — Build the Right Environment
You cannot out-willpower a toxic environment. The people, media, and messages you surround yourself with matter. This means curating your social media to follow people who inspire you, choosing podcasts that motivate you, reading books that help you grow, and spending time with people who support your goals.
What you feed your mind directly affects what you put out into the world—and that number on the scale.
Mindset Tip #5 — Think Before You Eat
Here’s a habit that’s saved me from so many unnecessary calories: when you feel hungry, wait 15 minutes. Ask yourself—am I actually hungry, or am I bored, stressed, or emotional? Sometimes just taking that pause can break the cycle of emotional eating.
You’ll be surprised how often the craving fades if you just give it time.
Mindset Tip #6 — Practice Hara Hachi Bu
This is an ancient Japanese practice that simply means “eat until you’re 80% full.” In other words, stop before you’re stuffed. It’s better for digestion, better for your energy, and yes—better for your waistline. Overeating isn’t just unattractive—it’s uncomfortable, and it’s a habit that keeps you stuck.
Mindset Tip #7 — Enjoy the Process & Celebrate Wins
If you only focus on the end goal, you’re going to burn out. The key is to find joy in the process and to celebrate your wins—big and small.
Lost one pound? Share it with your loved ones. Down 10 pounds? Treat yourself to a new lip gloss. Down 50? Book a photoshoot.
These little celebrations keep you motivated and remind you how far you’ve come.
Mindset Tip #8 — Forecast the Obstacles & Have a Plan
Life will throw curveballs—vacations, holidays, work stress, family emergencies. The key is to expect obstacles and decide ahead of time how you’ll handle them.
For example:
• Going on vacation? Pack protein snacks.
• Big holiday dinner? Decide your plate portions before you walk in.
• Feeling stressed? Have a list of non-food coping strategies ready.
When you’ve got a plan, you’re less likely to get completely knocked off track.
Here’s the truth: weight loss isn’t just about calories in and calories out. It’s about the thoughts you think every single day. It’s about your ability to keep going when things aren’t perfect. And it’s about building a life you actually love living.
So Glow-Getter, if you’re on your own journey right now—whether you’re looking to lose 20 pounds, 100 pounds, or just feel better in your body—remember this: mindset is your number one tool. Build it. Protect it. And use it every single day.
Glow Up Style - Fall 2025
How fashion and style trends this season can support your glow up journey. Because remember—your wardrobe isn’t just clothing. It’s energy. It’s confidence. It’s how you show up in the world.
Let’s start with tailoring and structure.
Gone are the days when pencil skirts felt stiff or uncomfortable. This season, it’s all about stretchy, comfortable fabrics that still give you that feminine, flattering silhouette. Think: confidence meets comfort. Pair it with a tailored blazer or a coat with dramatic draping—or even one of those cozy scarf panels built right in—and suddenly you’ve taken “running errands” to “effortlessly elevated.” And I don’t know about you, but when I put on a wide-leg trouser in soft pinstripes, I feel both polished and practical, ready to conquer the day.
Now, let’s add texture and layers.
Autumn is the perfect season for this. Faux fur is everywhere, especially in those versatile brown and beige tones. Just imagine throwing on a soft faux fur coat over your jeans—it instantly adds luxury. Lightweight patterned knitwear, asymmetric layering pieces, even a little fringe or tassel—these all add movement and depth, and that kind of dimension makes even a simple outfit feel intentional and glow-up ready.
Then we’ve got feminine and romantic touches.
Lace is making a statement in skirts and blouses, and I love it because it adds that delicate, romantic energy. And for my boho-spirited sisters, flowing maxi skirts, embroidered jackets, and those nomadic-inspired layers are so in. One trend I’m loving? Nightie-style dresses—sheer, soft, flowy—and yes, they’ve made the leap into daytime wear. Feminine, comfortable, and a little bit daring.
Of course, we have to talk about color and patterns.
This season is rich and bold—think chocolate brown, turmeric, chartreuse, indigo, deep purples, and pale blues. Pair them with checks and plaids in coats or trousers, or add some leopard print for a pop of playful energy. A statement coat in animal print? That’s pure confidence.
Moving on to skirts, dresses, and accessories.
Midi skirts are everywhere, and they’re the most versatile piece you can own right now. Pair them with boots and you’ve nailed autumn chic. Asymmetrical hems and bold patterns also give individuality and personality. On the footwear side, sneakers are stepping aside to let loafers, Mary Janes, Oxfords, and sleek ankle boots have their moment. These little swaps instantly infuse polish into your everyday outfits.
Now for outerwear and statement details.
Bomber jackets, Mac coats, varsity jackets with a modern edge—they all add that stylish warmth. Don’t overlook crocheted tops and hats for comfort and artistry, or even a vintage blouse layered under a draped wool coat. These are the kinds of details that make people stop and say, “Wow, she looks amazing.”
And finally—everyday luxury.
This is a theme I really want you to remember. We’re moving away from harsh minimalism and into softness. Think slouchy handbags, buttery fabrics, cozy knit scarves, and warm brown or beige tones that last season after season. Everyday luxury means choosing pieces that feel good, elevate your energy, and remind you that you’re worth it—every single day.
✨ Here’s the glow up takeaway: fashion is not about following every single trend. It’s about asking, “How do these trends support the woman I’m becoming?” Maybe for you it’s adding a soft faux fur accessory, maybe it’s a new midi skirt, or maybe it’s swapping sneakers for sleek loafers. Small shifts, big energy.
So as you’re building your autumn wardrobe, think: structure, texture, romance, statement, and everyday luxury. Let your style speak the glow up you’re living from the inside out.
9 Step Financial Glow Up
Step 1: Starts with the absolute foundation: knowing your monthly income and expenses. You cannot glow-up financially if you don’t know what’s coming in and what’s going out. Grab a notebook, or open your Notes app, and write down your total monthly income. Then list every recurring expense—your mortgage or rent, utilities, groceries, subscriptions, gas, eating out. Here’s the goal: clarity. When you see the full picture, you gain control. No more guessing. No more living in the dark. Financial freedom begins with awareness.
Step 2: Create a Values-Based Budget. So now you got clear on your income we’re building your first values-based budget. A values-based budget isn’t about restriction—it’s about alignment. This is where your money starts reflecting the woman you are becoming. Instead of asking, ‘What do I have to cut?’ ask, ‘What do I want my money to create in my life?’
Here’s how you do it:
1. Look at your list of expenses.
2. Circle the ones that support your values—maybe health, family, freedom, travel, security.
3. Star the ones that drain you or don’t match who you want to be.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s progress. When you spend in alignment with your values, your money works harder for your happiness. Your glow-up step today: rewrite your budget so that it reflects the future you’re building—not just the bills you’re paying.
Step 3: List All Debts + Plan a Payoff Strategy. In Step 3 we face something many of us avoid: debt. It’s time to take your power back. First, make a list of every debt you have—credit cards, car loans, student loans, medical bills. Write down the balance, interest rate, and minimum payment. Seeing it all in one place is powerful, because once it’s on paper, it stops controlling you. Now, pick your strategy: • The Snowball Method: pay off your smallest debt first for quick wins. • The Avalanche Method: attack the highest interest rate to save more money long-term. Neither is wrong. The best strategy is the one you’ll actually stick with. Debt doesn’t define you. It’s simply a number that can shrink every month with a plan. Your glow-up step: choose your method and commit to one extra payment this month.
Step 4: Decrease spending and increase income. So step 3 you created a debt payoff plan. To move this process along and full execute paying off your entire debt. You should concentrate on doing two different activities. Cutting expenses across the board and increasing your income. Consider your values based budget and see where you can cut expenses. Maybe changing grocery stores and changing to cheaper skincare. Changing phone plan or home internet service. Then concentrate on increaseIng income. Ask for a raise, switch employment or get a second job. That’s what I did. I got a second remote job and increased my income by $1200 per month which went towards my debt.
Step 5 : Check Your Credit Score + History. Step 5 of your Financial Glow-Up is all about your credit score—your financial reputation. It impacts whether you can buy a home, refinance, or even land certain jobs.
Here’s how to glow-up your credit:
1. Get your free credit report at AnnualCreditReport.com.
2. Check for errors—because mistakes happen, and they can hurt your score.
3. Pay every bill on time.
4. Keep your credit utilization under 30% of your limit.
This isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about progress. Improving your credit gives you options and lowers your stress. Imagine being able to walk into a bank or apply for a loan and feel confident instead of anxious. So when you get a chance pull your credit score and look it square in the face. Knowledge is power, and power creates freedom.
Step 6: Start or Grow an Emergency Fund. Step 6 is about peace of mind: your emergency fund. Life throws curveballs—car repairs, medical bills, job loss. Without a cushion, emergencies turn into debt spirals. Here’s the glow-up goal: save at least 3–6 months of essential expenses. If that number feels overwhelming, start smaller. Even $500 is powerful—it turns a crisis into an inconvenience.
Here’s how to begin:
• Open a separate savings account just for emergencies.
• Set up an automatic transfer, even if it’s $20 a week.
• Treat this fund as untouchable unless it’s a true emergency.
An emergency fund isn’t just about money. It’s about confidence. It’s knowing you can handle life without panic. So step 6 is open that account and make your first deposit.
Step 7: Open or Contribute to Retirement Accounts. Step 7 is for your future self. Midlife is the perfect time to prioritize retirement. Why? Because women over 40 still have 20–30 years to grow wealth.
Here are your options:
• If you have a job with a 401(k), contribute at least enough to get the employer match. That’s free money.
• If you don’t, open an IRA or Roth IRA.
• Increase contributions by even 1–2% each year—you’ll barely notice the change, but your future self will thank you.
Remember: investing isn’t about timing the market—it’s about time in the market. Consistency beats perfection. Your glow-up step: if you don’t have a retirement account, open one this week. If you do, increase your contribution.
Step 8: Set Up Automatic Savings + Bill Payments. Step 8 of your Financial Glow-U is about taking stress out of the equation: automation. Here’s the truth: discipline is great, but automation wins every time. When your bills, savings, and retirement contributions are set up to run automatically, you protect yourself from forgetfulness, overspending, and late fees.
Here’s how to glow-up:
• Schedule your bills for auto-pay.
• Set automatic transfers to your savings and emergency fund.
• Align paydays with your transfers so the money moves before you’re tempted to spend it.
Automation creates consistency, and consistency creates freedom. Imagine logging into your accounts and knowing it’s all handled—that’s financial glow-up energy. So step 8 set up one new automation.
Step 9: Audit Your Subscriptions + Spending Leaks. Step 9, You’ve built an incredible foundation for your financial glow-up. Now let’s tighten it up with a spending audit. Go through your bank and credit card statements. Look at subscriptions, memberships, and small expenses that sneak in—streaming services, delivery apps, beauty boxes. Ask: Am I still using this? Does it align with my values? Cancel what doesn’t serve you. Redirect that money toward debt, savings, or the life you really want.
This series was never about perfection. It’s about awareness, alignment, and action. Over these 8 days, you’ve learned to track your money, budget by values, tackle debt, build credit, save for emergencies, invest for retirement, automate your system, and stop money leaks.
So That’s a financial glow-up foundation that will carry you forward into financial freedom. Keep going, keep glowing, and remember—midlife is the perfect time to build wealth on your terms.”
This isn’t the end—it’s your starting line. Keep building, keep growing, and keep glowing—because midlife is YOUR time to thrive financially, physically, and personally.
