5 Questions That Can Change the Next 5 Years of Your Life - The Midlife GlowGetter with Jax

Hi GlowGetter 🤍

The 5 Questions That Can Change the Next 5 Years of Your Life ✨

Hello GlowGetter,

Let me ask you something gently, honestly, and without pressure…

Have you ever thought, “I don’t want to waste the next five years”?

Not because you’re behind.
Not because something is wrong.
But because you’re more awake now.

Midlife has a way of sharpening our truth. We know what drains us. We know what lights us up. And we’re no longer interested in pushing through a life that looks fine on paper but feels heavy in our bodies.

This week, I want to share five simple but powerful questions that can change how you design your life, and how you can use them to start building a clear, calm, intentional 5-year plan.

No pressure. No hustle. Just direction.

Let’s glow.

The 5 Questions That Shift Everything

1. What actually gives me energy, and what quietly drains it?

In midlife, energy matters more than motivation.
When your days are filled with things that drain you, everything feels harder. When you protect your energy, progress feels possible again.

Start noticing what fuels you, and what costs too much.

2. If I stopped trying to prove myself, what would I choose instead?

So many women are still living by old rules: be strong, be reliable, don’t rock the boat.

But ask yourself honestly:
If I didn’t need approval, permission, or validation… what would I want?

That answer holds freedom.

3. What does success look like for me now, not 10 or 20 years ago?

Success evolves.

At this stage, success might look like peace, health, stability, flexibility, confidence, or simply waking up without dread.

Redefining success helps you stop chasing goals that no longer fit the woman you are now.

4. What am I tolerating that I no longer want to carry into my next chapter?

Tolerance is sneaky. It hides in “I’ll deal with it later.”

Clutter. Debt. Exhaustion. One-sided relationships. Habits that don’t serve you anymore.

Your next chapter doesn’t require perfection, it requires release.

5. If I fully trusted myself, what would my next bold move be?

Not the whole plan.
Not the perfect path.

Just the next brave step you already feel nudged toward.

Self-trust is the real glow-up.

Turning These Answers Into a Simple 5-Year Plan

Here’s how to gently turn insight into action:

Step 1: Choose a theme for your next five years.
Think: My Health Era. Financial Peace. Reinvention. Soft Life with Strong Boundaries.

Step 2: Pick 3–5 life areas to focus on.
Wellness. Money. Career. Confidence. Home. Relationships.

Step 3: Write a short snapshot of your life five years from now.
How do you feel? How do your days look? What’s different?

Step 4: Pull out 5 big outcomes.
Not everything, just what truly matters.

Step 5: Focus on Year One.
Year one is about habits, systems, and consistency, not perfection.

Step 6: Choose a few foundation habits.
Walking. Meal prep. Weekly planning. Money check-ins. Journaling.

Step 7: Start with the next 90 days.
One main goal. Two support habits. One weekly reset.

That’s how change becomes sustainable.

A Gentle Reminder Before You Go đź’›

Midlife isn’t a time to shrink or rush.

It’s a time to get honest.
To choose direction over chaos.
To design a life that actually feels good to live.

You don’t need a perfect plan.
You just need intention, and the courage to take the next step.

Your next five years can be your most aligned yet.

With love and belief in you,
Jax

This Week’s GlowUp Rituals:

Feb. 15 — Winter Skincare Layering

How to do it

  • Cleanse gently.
  • Apply hydrating toner or essence.
  • Layer serum, moisturizer, then face oil if needed.
  • Seal it in with a rich night cream.

Why it matters after 40

  • Cold air destroys your skin barrier.
  • Hormones slow collagen and oil production.
  • Layering protects moisture and keeps skin plump.

Dry skin looks tired. Hydrated skin looks expensive.

Feb. 16 — Hydrate Before Caffeine

Bonus points for minerals or electrolytes.

How to do it

  • Drink 16–24 oz of water first thing.
  • Add electrolytes, sea salt, or mineral drops.
  • Then enjoy your coffee.

Why it matters after 40

  • Dehydration worsens fatigue, cravings, and brain fog.
  • Hydrated cells function better.
  • Your metabolism runs on water.

Dehydrated cells don’t glow. They complain.

Feb. 17 — Midday Nervous System Check

How to do it

  • Pause around lunchtime.
  • Ask: Am I tense? Holding my breath? Rushing?
  • Do 3–5 slow belly breaths or a short walk.

Why it matters after 40

  • Chronic stress spikes cortisol and stores fat.
  • A calm nervous system supports hormones and digestion.
  • You perform better when regulated.

Calm is a productivity tool.

Feb. 18 — Mid-Winter Declutter (Kitchen or Bathroom)

How to do it

  • Choose one room.
  • Purge expired food, products, clutter.
  • Wipe down surfaces and reorganize.

Why it matters after 40

  • Visual clutter increases mental fatigue.
  • Clean spaces reduce stress hormones.
  • Order creates momentum.

Your environment trains your nervous system.

Feb. 19 — Self-Development Book of the Month

How to do it

  • Choose one growth-focused book.
  • Read 10–20 minutes daily.
  • Keep notes or highlights.

Why it matters after 40

  • Your mindset determines your next chapter.
  • Growth prevents stagnation.
  • Reinvention requires new input.

You are not done evolving.

Feb. 20 — Morning Emotional Check-In

How to do it

  • Ask: Am I calm, rushed, tense, or neutral?
  • Name it.
  • Adjust your pace if needed.

Why it matters after 40

  • Awareness creates control.
  • Emotions drive behavior.
  • Regulation prevents burnout.

You can’t manage what you don’t notice.

Feb. 21 — Define Your Emotional Maturity

How to do it

  • Write one sentence that reflects who you are now.
  • Example: “I respond instead of react.”
  • Keep it somewhere visible.

Why it matters after 40

  • Growth deserves acknowledgment.
  • You are no longer who you used to be.
  • Identity creates behavior.

You didn’t just age. You evolved.

These rituals aren’t flashy.
They’re foundational.

This is how women build glow from the inside out.
Quietly. Consistently. Powerfully.
